Mustang province, on the other side of the pass, is very dry and windy.

Tomorrow we begin our trek around Annapurna. At 6 AM our first bus will depart Kathmandu for Dumre, where we will catch another bus to Besisahar (about 10 hours total). The 21-day trek will cover 220 kilometers and reach altitudes of 6,000 meters (about 18,000 feet).

As you can see, it is called the monkey temple for a reason.

“Special breakfast” in Kathmandu consists of two eggs, sausage, toast, jam, potatoes, and tea.

Probably the best garlic naan I have ever tasted. Huge chunks of garlic made it perfect to dip into tikka masala.
