Tonight I will return to KL for about 24 hours before my flight to Jakarta, Indonesia. The Khalerias fly in on Christmas Day, then we’re off to Bali for New Years!

There are lots of food courts in Penang, Malaysia’s food capital. This one in particular has a half dozen shops with meat and fish stacked so high many customers have trouble reaching the top shelf items.

Carts with really tasty, fresh juices are perfect for these warm humid days. And they also serve up various meats on a stick. A glass of juice or one chicken nugget each cost $0.30.

I’m not sure what this dish is called, but it’s pork on a bowl of noodles in a soy sauce broth, green onions, hot green chilis, all served on top of pork dumplings (not pictured, hiding in the bottom of the bowl).
